The Scent of Parkinsonism

ParK-9 Dog detection of Parkinson's

Parkinsonism is a metabolic disease and individuals with Parkinsonism produce a characteristic scent, or aromatic cloud.

We have trained two dogs to identify the scent of Parkinsonism from an earwax sample.

Portal to Prevention

How does it work?

You send in earwax (seriously) and our trained dogs signal if your biological sample emits a  scent common to individuals with Parkinsonism. The dogs walk up and down the tracks, signaling when they find the scent.

Get Tested

If positive, we'll teach you to slow it.

Individuals who are ParK-9 positive will receive a free information packet on strategies for slowing and preventing motor disease.
