The Scent of Parkinsonism

There are more than 10 dogs in the Pacific NW that have been trained to differentiate people with parkinsonism from controls.


This test is not currently available to the public. 


Individuals may participate as research subjects. Please contact neuroresearch@bastyr.edu for details regarding study participation.

Send in a Sample

Prelabeled kits and instruction will be sent to the individual. 


Video of dogs’ response to your scent, if desired. 

If positive, we'll teach you to slow it.

Don't let anyone tell you that we don't have a way to slow PD- disease modification strategies exist!


Indiviudals who are ParK-9 positive will receive a free information packet on strategies for slowing and preventing motor disease.
